Another pickup is coming our way, this time around it is the 2024 Rivian R1T. Rivian is not a well-known name in the truck industry. This is a startup electric vehicle company. And so far, things have been so good that they are planning on opening another production facility. This opens new jobs and according to rumors will mean the making of 400 000 vehicles per year.
It is poised to open in 2024. But Rivian is going to bless us with another of their creations. This edition of the R1T would have two motors and differing battery sizes. Something to accommodate different needs which is a big selling point. The design is also bound to get a redesign. Let’s take a look at what the new EV pickup would look like.
Rivian R1T Interior Features
On the inside, we will get better technology and overall style of the 2024 Rivian R1T. This means better upholstery material. Leather, suede, and fabric should cover all of it and hopefully, we get contrast stitching to give it some additional style. The dashboard is fully digital with a heads-up display. This makes sense since Rivian is fully electric and it looks futuristic.
There is a 16-inch touchscreen with amazing customizable features. You can track anything you wish and this helps the safety aspect. Hopefully, Rivian springs out and gives us hands-free driving of their own. Perhaps it covers more roads than Ford and GM’s software.

Clean Exterior Design
On the outside, not many changes are coming. The fresh 2024 Rivian R1T is coming with new exterior colors. They remain to be announced. But more choice is a good thing. The front fascia will remain the same, with no mesh with air intake. The unified LED bar across the fascia with vertical lights. The wheels are 20-inch lightweight aluminum alloy with the option of going up to 21 or 22 for your needs.
Tailgate is also multifunctional and it can be controlled electronically. Overall, the truck has a bit blocky look but has good ergonomics and aerodynamics. This is especially important when talking about decreasing wind drag and improving handling and decreasing fuel consumption.

Lots of Power and Miles
The 2024 Rivian R1T is going to remain an electric truck exclusively. This is a big plus in our books since it future-proofs the truck and makes it ready for strict emission regulations. The previous model had a good range and an amazing battery pack. Of course, the platform was ready for all the components so we don’t see that changing. This time around Rivian announced a two-motor setup. This is a much better option. Tesla did a similar thing with the Cybertruck. There are single, dual, and tri-motor setups. Each is more powerful than the previous one. The dual motor setup has a 105-kWh battery which is more than enough for 250 miles of range. Rivian also announced a four-motor setup.
Each motor would handle a different wheel. This means the all-wheel drive will be standard on the new Rivian. It has a 135-kWh battery with a 315-mile range. There is an even bigger 180kWh battery but that will cost extra and it bumps the driving range to 400 miles which is outstanding. The four-motor setup has over 800 horsepower and 900 pound-feet of torque. That might be overkill but the more the merrier. It can tow up to 11000 pounds and is likely to outperform all of the mid-size segment with these specifications.

Driving Range
As already mentioned, there are two versions of the 2024 Rivian R1T. Both with amazing range, 250 miles and 315 miles on a single charge. Springing out for a bigger battery will get you over 400 miles of range. This with fast charging is a great selling point for all of those who enjoy EV pickups.
2024 Rivian R1T Price and Release Date
There is no price given for the 2024 Rivian R1T. The current model is around $67,000, but considering the improvements made, we can see the price skyrocketing. Some estimates put it in the $80,000 range. Which is still a good bang for the buck when you look at the big picture. The summer of 2023 is when we will get the chance to see it on the road.
