The popular Sierra truck is going electric. Of course, this leads us to the 2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV. Denali is the range-topping trim level, so it will be the most luxurious and powerful model in the lineup. Sierra will become the second fully electric GMC model. This model will reportedly debut later this year, with the sales beginning at some point in 2023.
Naturally, Sierra EV will ride on the Ultium platform and will use the same batteries as the Silverado EV truck. Some reports are saying that the Sierra Denali EV will have a better driving range than the Silverado variant. Anyway, we expect a very premium model with so much to offer. On the other hand, this truck won’t come cheap, although the price is not available yet.

Exterior and Interior Details
So far, we don’t have official info about this model. However, the 2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV will look premium, that’s for sure. Some renderings are already available. The pictures are realistic, showing a luxury truck with a futuristic presence and subtle styling. The exterior design is clean, with a closed-off grille, larger wheels, and a new lighting system. Per the source, GMC will offer a MultiFlex tailgate that has six positions, so the bed can provide up to 130 inches of the floor length.
Inside the cabin, Sierra Denali EV will have a larger 17-inch infotainment touchscreen and a larger head-up display (HUD). Moreover, Ultifi software will be in use, which allows over-the-air updates. You won’t find a more luxury truck than the Denali trim level. However, some reports are saying the GMC will use completely different materials in this all-electric truck. That includes different sheet metals, new upholstery, and much more.

Competition
The all-electric 2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV will have a couple of strong competitors at the beginning. That includes the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T models. Of course, Sierra won’t rival the GMC Hummer EV model, once it arrives. On the other hand, Tesla Cybertruck is on the way, while we are waiting for the official debut of the Ram 1500 EV.
You can find a lot of rumors about electric trucks such as Nikola Badger, Lordstown Endurance, and Bollinger B2. However, none of these automakers are established, so even if some of these models actually arrive, it won’t be so hard to compete with them. Yes, Rivian is not established as well, but many powerful brands are investing in it.
GMC Sierra Denali EV Driving Range, Towing Capacity and More
Right now, we don’t have a clear picture of how the 2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV is going to perform. The most reliable reports are saying that the base model will have 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to that, Sierra EV will have a towing capacity of around 8,000 pounds. Some rumors are already writing about a mysterious trim level that will have a towing capacity of 20,000 pounds.
As for the Denali variant, this model will surely include more power over the base variant. Moreover, we expect a fast-charging system to be included as a standard. Naturally, bigger batteries are a must for this luxury model. Therefore, Sierra Denali EV will surely provide 400 miles of driving range on a single charge, if not even more.

2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV Price, Release Date
What we know for sure, is that the 2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV truck won’t come cheap. Whatsoever, even the gasoline-powered Denali trim level is expensive. Anyway, it will be a premium electric truck that will be hard to compete with. The sales should begin next year, most likely in the summer. Until then, we are waiting for GMC to reveal more information.
