Even though this truck is not here yet, rumors regarding the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning truck are already circulating. The all-electric version of the F-150 truck is called the Ford F-150 Lightning. The reason the brand seems familiar is that the Blue Oval automaker revived it from the previous high-performance Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, a model which isn’t available for almost twenty years.
And while the all-electric truck segment is on fire, it seems like the Ford F-150 Lightning has the best chance to dominate. Ford is already planning more improvements for its Lightning model as the new fully electric trucks from Ram and Chevrolet is also on the way.
Interior Updates
The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will undoubtedly come loaded with cutting-edge technology. However, for the model year 2023, we don’t anticipate any significant upgrades. Ford offers over-the-air upgrades and the next model will undoubtedly include extra safety features. There is a hands-free driving option called Blue Cruise. The FordPass app, which enables remote car control and facilitates finding charging stations, is another significant upgrade. The Onboard Scales is another excellent software.
This one calculates how much weight the vehicle is pulling using sensors. This allows the Onboard Scales to display driving range even while the vehicle is transporting or towing cargo. Only the Lariat and Platinum model levels now have SYNC 4A infotainment available. A large 15.5-inch display will accommodate this technology in even entry-level devices.
Ford F-150 Lightning Driving Range and Power
Blue Oval predicts that the Lightning model will generate a lot of power. We already mentioned the competitors, therefore the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will get further improvements. The 2023MY will initially have a 565-horsepower output. The new model, though, will produce up to 580 horses. We are, of course, referring to the extended-range model. It will produce 425 horsepower for the basic range. But according to reports, it will deliver 450 horsepower in 2024.
However, the torque on both models will stay at 775 lb-ft. The small gains in payload and towing capacity that should follow from this are negligible. The regular battery has a driving range of 230 miles on a single charge in terms of battery packs. The range of the extended-range battery will be 320 miles.
2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Launch Date and Cost
The next 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will go on sale next fall, per reports. We are waiting to hear more details, but the price of around $54,000 should remain. Moreover, the range-topping Platinum Extended Range variant will cost almost $100,000.
