Recently, General Motors said that more than 110,000 reservations have already been taken for the new all-electric 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV. The numbers show how quickly consumer demand for vehicles is increasing in the United States. According to Chevrolet, this model will go on sale sometime next year.
According to available information, the manufacturer will employ the same configuration and battery as the GMC Hummer EV. A huge battery pack should allow DC fast-charging technology and provide up to 400 miles of range on a single charge. Dual electric motors are also standard, enabling all-wheel drive. The Chevrolet Silverado EV will allegedly produce 665 horsepower and pull up to 10,000 pounds with this configuration.
Chevrolet Silverado EV Driving Range, Towing Capacity
Unlike the GMC Hummer EV, which is powered by three electric motors, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV will only have two electric motors. The system should provide very good acceleration and a standard AWD system. With this setup, Silverado EV will reportedly produce around 665 horsepower.
This is most likely the setup for a sportier RST model. As a result, the base trim level should be able to produce roughly 510 horsepower. Chevrolet also says that the Silverado EV will have a driving range of up to 400 miles on a single charge. Furthermore, the RST model’s maximum towing capability is 10,000 pounds, while the regular model delivers roughly 8000 pounds.
Premium Interior Features
The interior of the premium RST model has lately been revealed by the manufacturer. The interior design is impressive, and the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV model has the same passenger room as a normal Silverado truck with a crew cab setup. According to Chevrolet, all models will have a digital dashboard, a standard 11-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an 8-inch digital gauge display.
When you upgrade to the top-tier RST trim level, you’ll get a larger 17-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch gauge display. Unfortunately, Chevy hasn’t published specifics regarding its new infotainment system. However, we assume Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to be standard, along with Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and other must-have features.
Impressive Exterior Design
According to reports, the next 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV would only be offered in crew cab configuration. The Silverado EV, like the majority of full-size pickup trucks, has an upright posture. The grille on the front will enable direct airflow around the sides. The result is significantly improved aerodynamics.
Of course, this enhances performance and driving range as well. The Silverado EV, like the former Chevrolet Avalanche, has a retractable mid-gate that separates the cargo bed from the tailgate. Essentially, this will make the Silverado EV more capable of hauling long and hefty loads. New Silverado EV will look more upright than the regular Silverado and it will feature a cleaner exterior design.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Release Date, Price
As for the launch date, the new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV will hit the dealerships at some point next year. The price is not available yet, although we believe the base trim level will start at about $43,000. The High-Country model will cost at least $90k. Moreover, the RST model will cost above $105,000, per source. There will be six trim levels available, and we are waiting to hear more details from Chevy in the coming months.
