As you know, the Amarok model is based on the latest Ford Ranger mid-size pickup. As a result, Amarok will look more aggressive than ever before. Volkswagen Amarok Exterior Photos
Volkswagen has revealed a pair of teaser sketches of the next-generation Amarok pickup truck. Reportedly, this model is close to production. The German manufacturer will produce new 2023 Volkswagen Amarok in South Africa, using the same body-on-frame architecture as the latest Ford Ranger.
The photograph shows a double cab variant with plastic body wrapping around the wheel arches. We also noted a new LED light bar in front and a roof with cool rail straps. Surprisingly, the Volkswagen variant has wider wheel arches than the Ranger. We don’t have a photo of the rear section, but we’re expecting a redesigned taillight form with improved graphics.
Interior Changes
The inside, like the appearance, was completely redesigned by the automaker. The primary passenger compartment bears a passing resemblance to the Ranger cabin. Thanks to that, new 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will feature the portrait-style touchscreen and in-dash storage. Aside from that, the Amarok distinguishes itself with its distinct style and upmarket appearance.
It has a new steering wheel with more controls, a digital instrument cluster, three-tone upholstery, new center console and bolstered seats. Furthermore, the third-generation Amarok will have more safety system, and Volkswagen believes that the Amarok will have advances not previously seen in the market.
Impressive V6 Turbodiesel Engine
The next-gen 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will offer a variety of engine options. That includes a 2.0-liter inline-four diesel with either single-turbo or twin-turbo setup. On top of that, there is a 2.3-liter turbo-four engine, and an optional 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel variant. The 2.3-liter engine will be able to produce 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.
However, the turbodiesel engine will develop 255 horsepower and a torque of 428 lb-ft. More importantly, Amarok pickup will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in eight seconds. Lastly, Volkswagen will provide standard 6-speed manual and optional 10-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Volkswagen Amarok Release Date, Price
The price of the upcoming 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will start at around $25,000. However, we are still waiting to hear more details in the coming weeks. The Amarok pickup will hit the markets later in 2022. This pickup truck will be on sale in South America, Africa and Europe. Since its debut a decade ago, Volkswagen sold the Amarok model in over 800,000 examples.
