The upcoming Ram 2500 and 3500 HD trucks are among the best in class for 2023. Reportedly, no competitors in the heavy-duty truck market will equal the 2023 Ram HD models. Of course, Ford and Chevrolet are offering great heavy-duty models. However, Ram leads in categories such as ride comfort and elegance.
These trucks have a large cabin and a tremendous hauling capacity of up to 37,000 pounds. With a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system in both versions, there’s no shortage of technology inside the cabin. Ram said the HD lineup of trucks will be available in the second half of 2022.
Ram HD Redesign
The next 2023 Ram HD trucks will have a sleeker appearance, closer to the Ram 1500. It has directional LED headlights flanked by a split grille. Additionally, Ram claims that each trim level has its distinctive grille.
For example, the Power Wagon has a nicer grille and more design elements. Unlike the Ram 2500, the Ram 3500 is available with either single or dual rear wheels. “Dually” refers to the later configuration. Overall, for 2023, the company will add slimmer taillights and keep the same bed arrangement.
Interior Upgrades
Both HD versions, like the Ram 1500, will be appealing. The 2023 Ram HD trucks have high-quality materials, plenty of room, and a lot of standard tech features. A single cab, a four-door Crew Cab, and a huge Mega Cab are available. While Ford, Chevy, and GMC competitors have nice interiors, the Ram offers the finest.
Ram has the class’s biggest 12-inch touchscreen. It also has GPS, Wi-Fi, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto phone integrations. Three 115-volt outlets and up to five USB ports are included as standard. Generally, the cabin updates are not so dramatic, but the interior is still up to date.
Towing Capacity
The new Ram HD 2023 has three powertrain options. A 6.4-liter V8 with 410 horsepower and 439 lb-ft of torque is standard. This engine is mated to an outstanding eight-speed automatic with four-wheel drive alone. A familiar turbodiesel Cummins unit with rear- or four-wheel drive is available on various variants. Thanks to that, both the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 models will generate 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque.
The next one is only available on the 3500 model and generates 400 horsepower and 1075 lb-ft of torque. Both engines share a six-speed automatic gearbox. The new Ram 3500 can tow 37,100 pounds and carry 7680 pounds with its Cummins engine. With the regular gasoline V8, this truck can pull 14,400 pounds.
2023 Ram HD Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2023 Ram HD is expected to arrive in the second half of 2022. The new model will feature a more comfortable cabin with more sophisticated high-tech amenities. The 2500 Tradesman Regular Cab begins at $36,000. On the other hand, the Ram 3500 Regular Cab starts at $37,500.
