The next-generation Triton truck will reportedly be outfitted with Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid technology. The same setup will be offered in the Pajero SUV. Thanks to this, the 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will get a much-needed fuel-efficiency improvement. Mitsubishi says it is looking at several plug-in hybrid powertrain possibilities.
That includes tri-and quad-motor combinations for performance-oriented vehicles. We don’t know everything yet. However, the Triton truck may use the same hybrid system as the Eclipse Cross. What we do know is that the Mitsubishi Triton is going to undergo substantial modifications. The sales will begin at some point next year.
2023 Triton Revamp
The upcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Triton is likely to look like the Mi-Tech concept from the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Their front and back fascia have unique and interesting design features despite the concept’s odd buggy appearance.
Future Mitsubishi vehicles like the Triton and Pajero Sport may use similar design elements. As a result, we expect a more modern and futuristic Triton pickup. Of course, the manufacturer will offer fresh exterior colors, new wheels, and refreshed styling cues.

New Hybrid Engine
Notably, the 2023 Mitsubishi Triton is being developed alongside the Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan. Mitsubishi’s current PHEV system combines a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with twin electric motors. The motors will reportedly deliver an additional 80 horses and around 100 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, a high-performance variant will gain an additional 95 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque.
A 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack will be offered as standard. A more powerful PHEV system will let the Mitsubishi Triton Hybrid offer higher towing capacity and better fuel efficiency ratings.

Updated Interior
The interior of the approaching 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will also be upgraded. For a start, Mitsubishi will introduce a bigger infotainment touchscreen. The new infotainment system will also have a revamped UI and quicker reaction time.
The Japanese manufacturer will also enhance the upholstery. The cabin’s design is unknown at this time, although the seating arrangement will stay the same. While additional driver assistance features may be optional, the Triton is likely to include a host of other features as well. Generally, customers should expect a higher level of comfort and more modern features.

2023 Mitsubishi Triton Release Date and Price
The upcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will launch in 2022, most likely in the fall. Furthermore, the price will now be about $40,000. It will be the greatest Triton yet, and it will be sold as the “L200” model in other markets. The automaker will reveal more details closer to the release date.
