It doesn’t seem like the rumors about the new 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R are going away anytime soon. The Ridgeline pickup truck is one of the most reliable models in its class. This model has modern and athletic designs and a very nice interior.
If you read the news, it says that Honda is working on a Type R version which will bring better performance and sportiness. This model will have a more aggressive look, as well as a new suspension and a cabin that’s full of high-end materials. Under the hood, we expect the same reliable V6 engine. However, this unit will be re-tuned and it will provide more power.
Honda Ridgeline Type R Looks Hot
The upcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will have an incredibly sporty look. The dimensions and the shape are the same, but Type R will have more muscles than the base variant. Anyway, some of the renderings are out there, and they show a bolder approach with a more aggressive exterior design. This unique truck will get new wheels, a modified hood, larger intakes, and larger air vents.
On the Black Edition, we also saw a blacked-out grille and a new bumper, so the Type R model will borrow a couple of stuff from the range-topping model. On top of that, Honda will provide lower ground clearance and this truck will ride on larger alloy wheels.
To make it more comfortable for people to drive, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R should have more room inside. At the moment, we don’t know if the Type R model will also offer a room for five or the capacity will be reduced. The high-performance model will have a lot more features and better seats.
Rumors say that the Japanese manufacturer will add leather seats, contrast stitching, and a sporty steering wheel. Because the Honda Ridgeline and the Pilot are very similar, you can expect them to have many of the same features. Our guess is a bigger screen than the 8-inch one it has now. We also expect numerous safety aids to be standard on this model.
More Powerful Engine
There will be an engine that will be used in both types of the Ridgeline truck. The 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will deploy the 3.5-liter V6 engine. However, this engine will be re-tuned and it will provide more power. The regular version provides 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. As for the Type R, it will reportedly generate up to 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
The numbers aren’t yet official, but they’re a good guess. That’s not all: We also found out that there would be VTEC and direct-injection fuel systems to choose from. Add more noise, lower the ride height and you will get an impressive and very sporty truck.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R
The forthcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will cost significantly above the base trim level. Right now, the Ridgeline truck starts at around $37,000. On the other hand, the Type R model will surely cost around $50,000. The sales will reportedly begin later in 2022, possibly in October.
