The upcoming 2023 GMC Sierra AT4 will come out once again. This time, the pickup truck will be a carryover model. If you don’t remember, the previous model introduces significant interior updates. On top of that, Sierra also gained the brand-new AT4X variant.
The AT4X slots above the AT4 model, offering more luxury and more off-road gear. Still, the Sierra 1500 AT4 represents a strong option in the segment. Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know.
GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Facelift
The front of the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 remains intact, like the rest of the new Sierra 1500 line. Unique features include an AT4 badge in the lower driver’s-side corner of the grille. The horizontal slats that cover the main air intake have a dark finish. As for the tow hooks, they will remain red, like the GMC badge. The front air dam was taken off so there was more space. The headlights were also changed for the 2022 model year with new lighting signatures and housings, making them look better. Unlike the AT4X, the AT4 has a dark grille finish and a different grille badge.
On top of that, the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 has 18-inch wheels with a high-gloss black finish that are wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac® mud-terrain tires on the sides. A two-inch factory suspension lift and Rancho monotube shocks have once again made the stance taller. The AT4X has Multimatic DSSV dampers. In the back, the Sierra AT4 has a CarbonPro carbon-fiber composite bed that can be bought as an option.
Interior Features
The next 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 will arrive with the same interior as the outgoing model. Of course, the manufacturer could provide a couple of small surprises, but nothing dramatic will change. We like the interior of the AT4 trim level, with a large 15-inch head-up display. This unit shows key information such as navigation, tachometer, speed, and mobile alerts.
On top of that, the AT4 variant adds a lot of safety systems. If this is not good enough for you, the GM also provides a wireless charging pad, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and premium Bose sound system. You can choose between Kalahari and Jet Black interior schemes and both choices are exceptional.
Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the new 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 will feature a 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. The inline-six Duramax unit comes as standard in the AT4 trim level. However, you can get an optional and larger 6.2-liter V8 gasoline powertrain. Both variants are using the same 10-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed AutoTrac transfer case. Furthermore, there is also an automatic locking rear differential. The Sierra 1500 will remain the rear-wheel-drive truck with an optional 4WD system.
2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Release Date, Price
The current model starts at $61,000 and a new one will arrive with the same price tag. The forthcoming 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 will arrive later in 2022, most likely around November. The production will start soon at the GM plants in Mexico, Canada, and United States.
