Blue Oval manufacturer plans to introduce a new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler package. It is an off-road-oriented version. Therefore, we expect lots of upgrades over the regular F-150 model. We expect a couple of similar elements as on the Tremor package. However, the Rattler variant can’t compete with the high-performance F-150 Raptor truck.
The idea is to provide a more affordable package, and Rattler is exactly that. We think the F-150 Rattler will gain a couple of unique amenities, which should improve the ride quality and off-road capability. Without further ado, here’s everything we know about this upcoming model.
Ford F-150 Rattler Styling
Design-wise, the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will not gain so many upgrades. Still, you’ll be able to distinguish it from other F-150 variants. The Rattler model will gain a more rugged appearance, but Ford will do it in a subtle way. The package will include new larger 18-inch wheels and new tires. The tires are beefier, which is a good thing for any off-roader.
The cargo bed will not change, so Rattler can be used for hauling things. This model will come with two exhaust tips, producing more noise. Ford will put the Rattler logo on the fenders, which is one of the easiest ways to recognize this truck. We expect a couple of exclusive exterior colors. However, regular paints such as Rapid Red or Agate Black will be on offer.
Interior Improvements
The new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will also introduce a couple of cabin upgrades. This model will get the same infotainment system as the regular F-150 truck. However, we expect to see a standard 10-inch display. Furthermore, Rattler will provide ample headroom and legroom.
There will be enough space for five passengers. Blue Oval will add a couple of sophisticated details, including onyx seats with gold accents. As this is an affordable package, we don’t expect some additional luxury. The same thing can be said for the FX4 package.
Performance
Under the hood, the new 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler will include a 2.7-liter twin-turbo engine. This unit is capable of producing 325 hp. There is an optional 5.0-liter V8 engine, delivering 400 horsepower and a torque of 410 lb-ft. Lastly, a 3.5-liter V6 engine with twin turbocharges will develop around 400 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. That is more than enough for good off-road capability.
On the other hand, Ford plans to provide an electronic rear differential, along with the hill descent control. A diesel engine will not be on offer, which is sad to hear. In case you didn’t know, the F-150 truck will no longer work with a diesel engine. Still, a reliable PowerBoost hybrid system will be on offer.
2023 Ford F-150 Rattler Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2023 Ford f-150 Rattler will start at around $30,000. That is around $2,000 over the base trim level. This package will become available later in 2023.
