The all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is coming to the markets, this time with additional upgrades. Toyota’s TRD Pro trim level is one of the most impressive models you can get in SUV and pickup truck segments. It is a high-performance variant with plenty of off-road equipment and great performances. New Tundra will be the next-gen model, at last.
Thanks to that, we expect to see a lot of changes and upgrades. Some things will drastically change as Toyota will try to rival the famous Ford F-150 model and its Raptor trim level. No doubt, TRD Pro is a competitive model and we can’t wait to see this newly redesigned version. The sales will begin later this year and here’s everything you need to know.
2022 Tundra TRD Pro Redesign, Colors
The upcoming 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will gain cosmetic upgrades. This popular off-road-oriented pickup truck will depart from the base Tundra in so many ways. Still, both regular and TRD Pro Tundras will gain the same updates. Toyota will provide a new design that can be found on the Highlander and RAV4 models. Of course, the manufacturer wants to deliver more modern stuff, which makes sense. The front fascia will wear the c-shaped daytime running lights and new LED headlights. The trapezoidal grille is slightly modified and it also wears more chrome details.
To the sides, Tundra TRD Pro will introduce more muscles and new optional wheels. The rear section hosts the same power tailgate and vertical LED taillamps. Unlike the base Tundra, TRD Pro trim level comes with bumper steps, bigger wheels, and additional ground clearance. The 2022 Tundra Pro is available in Super White, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Lunar Rock, Citrus Metallic, and Midnight Black Metallic exterior colors.
The interior of the 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is a nice place to be. Comfort is admirable and thanks to the F1 architecture, ride quality is also amazing. Tundra truck is spacious, but TRD Pro provides sportier seats and more premium materials, which is great. Furthermore, this model offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen as standard.
Toyota will provide a new infotainment system and the latest safety aids. Thanks to that, the interior is even more practical, more modern and safety is also improved. We are still waiting for Toyota to reveal more details as we hope to see a little bit more updates.
Potent 5.7-liter V8 Remains
The 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will most likely stick to its current 5.7-liter V8 gasoline engine. Some rumors are suggesting a hybrid powertrain, but this is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Another rumor is a 3.5-liter V6 engine, available in Lexus’ newest crossovers and SUVs. However, a larger V8 with dual independent valve timing intelligence will be on offer.
This engine generates 380 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The F1 platform remains so Tundra will offer the same rear-wheel-drive system. As for the TRD Pro trim level, an all-wheel-drive setup is standard. Both six-speed manual and ten-speed automatic transmission are on offer.
2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Release Date, Price
The price of the 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will once again cost around $54,000. Significant changes will slightly increase the price and the sales will begin later in 2021, most likely this November.
