The all-new 2022 Toyota Hilux AT35 is coming to the markets. This is a Toyota’s attempt to rival Ford Ranger Raptor in Europe. Hilux is a very capable truck, but the “Arctic Trucks” are working on this new variant that will deliver even stronger performances. The Arctic Trucks already worked on previous Hilux models, but the new Hilux will be the one yet.

2022 Hilux AT35 Changes and Upgrades
The upcoming 2022 Toyota Hilux AT35 will introduce a lot of modifications. The folks from Arctic Trucks will tweak a couple of things, in order to deliver greater capabilities. For an instance, the truck is fitted with nice-looking 17-inch wheels and chunky 35-inch all-terrain tires. The Bilstein suspension is upgraded and the truck now offers custom springs and dampers upfront. The anti-roll bar is also modified and Hilux AT35 comes with extended shackles.
This variant comes with additional 1.6 inches suspension lift and both front and rear differentials are improved for better torque. The AT35 variant will suffer a couple of visual upgrades. However, the upgrades are truly minor. The Arctic Trucks will provide some anniversary decals, celebrating 30 years of the company foundation. You will also get a new flare package, side steps, and unique exterior paints.
What About Performances?
The power will come from the familiar 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine. This unit develops 205 horsepower and up to 370 lb-ft of torque. The 4WD setup is standard, just like the six-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 Toyota Hilux AT35 will introduce slightly more power. Interestingly, towing capacity remains at 7,715 pounds. However, the payload will increase to 2,320 pounds.
Thanks to the latest modifications, Hilux AT35 will deliver more torque when needed, so the AT35 model provides slightly better performances than the regular Hilux. Original 2022 Toyota Hilux will arrive with a mild-hybrid powertrain. However, the AT35 model will only offer mentioned turbodiesel engine.
Interior Remains the Same
The interior of the 2022 Toyota Hilux AT35 won’t offer interior updates. We can expect to see small visual tweaks, such as anniversary decals or something similar. However, Hilux already offers a relatively new cabin design that looks modern and more premium.
Thanks to that, the AT35 model will look nice and the comfort will be great. Tech-wise, this truck comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a digital instrument cluster. The 2022MY comes with additional safety aids as well, so the truck will be safer than ever before.
2022 Toyota Hilux AT35 Price, Launch Date
The 2022 Toyota Hilux AT35 will be a tough rival, and the goal is to compete with the Ford Ranger Raptor. The price of the AT35 version starts at $26,000 and Arctic Trucks will open orders in the second half of 2021. Interestingly, the orders will be firstly open in the United Kingdom.
