The upcoming 2022 Nissan Navara will introduce at least one significant change. We are talking about some sort of electrification. First reports suggested a plug-in hybrid variant. However, the latest stories are convinced that the Navara EV is in the works. According to the same news, Navara will be electrified, and it will go on sale later in 2021.
It makes perfect sense after Toyota, Ford, and other established manufacturer decided for the same strategy. Electric vehicles are the future, so Navara is one of the ideal candidates in Nissan’s portfolio. Besides that, Navara will gain various visual modifications and interior upgrades.
2021 Navara Facelift
The all-new 2022 Nissan Navara will surely arrive with numerous cosmetic upgrades. The pickup truck will look more handsome as a result. Everything starts up front with the same trapezoidal grille that will wear more chrome accents. The front bumper is wider and LED headlights are slightly larger. Thanks to that, the front fascia looks more upright and more aggressive.
To the sides, Navara is equipped with astonishing 18-inch wheels that are optional on the base trim level. Bodywork is improved, and new Navara will be lighter than its predecessor. Nissan will also work on aerodynamics so the fuel efficiency should be better as well. As for the vehicle’s size, the 2022 Navara won’t change at all.
Interior Gets More Equipment
The interior of the 2022 Nissan Navara will also gain a couple of great updates. For a start, the new pickup will provide more interesting and more modern shapes. On top of that, the Japanese manufacturer will offer more upscale materials. The comfort will be at a higher level in all trim levels.
Additional high-tech features are a must. Navara will arrive with more standard amenities than its predecessor, that is for sure. This pickup could lose a couple of physical buttons and controls. Instead, most of the things will be operated via a new and larger touchscreen.
Engine Lineup Won’t Change
If you want to buy gasoline or diesel-powered 2022 Nissan Navara, don’t expect significant upgrades. Nissan will offer the same engine lineup that is currently available. A 2.3-liter diesel with 210 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque is a carryover. Furthermore, a 2.5-liter gasoline is available as well. Some rumors are suggesting a new and optional 3.0-liter diesel powertrain, but that seems unlikely to happen.
2022 Nissan Navara EV
The latest reports are strongly suggesting an all-electric version of the 2022 Nissan Navara. After Nissan’s alliance with Mitsubishi, the collaboration will release the next-gen Trifon model. On top of that, Nissan confirmed that the Navara pickup would borrow an all-electric powertrain from the arriving model.
Unfortunately, the exact details are not available yet. Navara could also borrow the platform from the Trifon model. Furthermore, a hybrid powertrain could also arrive, but we don’t know if Nissan will opt for a diesel or gasoline-hybrid setup.
Release Date and Price
The forthcoming 2022 Nissan Navara will go on sale at some point next year. Many experts are predicting the second half of the year. The pickup truck will now start closer to the $30,000.
As for the all-electric Navara, its price will begin below $40,000. Nissan will launch a new Navara pickup globally, and the new model will start with production in South Africa.
