2022 Jeep Gladiator changes

2022 Jeep Gladiator: Changes, Release Date

The forthcoming 2022 Jeep Gladiator will continue with the improvements. For the Gladiator pickup truck, this is the third year. In 2021, this model obtained a diesel engine, so we think the 2022 Gladiator could provide few surprises. And while it is still too early to speculate, we will concentrate on the specs and trim levels a little bit more.

The Gladiator pickup will remain an off-road midsize model, based on the Jeep Wrangler SUV. Some trims, however, offer better off-road features. The credit goes to Jeep that offers plenty of special variants and both diesel and gasoline engines are on offer. The launch date is about one year away from now, so here’s everything we know.

2022 Gladiator: Trim Levels

The Gladiator model offers so much equipment, special versions, and trim levels. The 2022 Jeep Gladiator will continue in the same fashion, and who knows, maybe we’ll see some new variant once again. Each trim level offers something unique and the list of standard features is impressive. Everything starts with the Gladiator Sport trim. It is a base trim level that offers 17-inch wheels and a soft-top roof. As before, you will get a lot of off-road features, a standard 4WD system, and underbody protection. On the other hand, a 5-inch touchscreen has to be replaced. The Sport trim also comes with manual windows locks and base cloth upholstery.

Moving on to the Overland trim that provides larger 18-inch wheels and power windows. This model also comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and tinted rear glass. A larger 7-inch display is standard, along with the power windows and heated mirrors. The Gladiator Mojave is our next trim level that comes with the Trail Rated badge. This means Mojave is a true off-road performer. It adds things such as all-terrain tires, new fender flares, and upgraded Fox suspension. Gladiator Mojave also adds an electronic locking rear differential and a wider track.

Lastly, the 2022 Gladiator Rubicon is the most impressive version you can get. Rubicon is similar to Mojave, mechanically. However, Rubicon provides slightly more luxury and further changes beneath the shell. That includes electronically disconnecting the anti-roll bar and a unique part-time 4×4 system with a transfer case. On top of that, Rubicon offers a Selec-Speed control, which is some sort of off-road cruise control system.

Specs: Gasoline V6 vs Diesel V6

The upcoming 2022 Jeep Gladiator is a pickup truck that offers both gasoline and diesel engines. 3.6-liter V6 gasoline is standard once again. It is a potent unit that generates 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A four-wheel-drive system is available, along with both 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission. A diesel engine can be had in Sport, Overland and Rubicon trim levels.

It is a 3.0-liter V6 with 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Diesel won’t offer manual transmission so the only 8-speed automatic gearbox is available. The gasoline engine delivers 19 mpg combined, while optional diesel is rated at 25 miles per gallon.

2022 Jeep Gladiator Release Date, Price

As we already wrote, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator is about one year away. This means the sales will begin in the last quarter of 2021. The price should once again start at around $33,000. However, Mojave and Rubicon trims will cost over $44,000. We are still waiting to see official details regarding the 2022 Gladiator. Moreover, we can’t wait to see the brand-new Ford Bronco Pickup Truck that will directly rival the Gladiator model.
