The all-new 2022 Isuzu D-Max will arrive later next year. This model was supposed to arrive at this time of 2020 but the manufacturer postponed it due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It will be the next-gen D-Max so we expect to see significant changes and upgrades. The spy shots are already available and new images are the proof of an exterior redesign.
Interior will also introduce a couple of interesting changes. However, we don’t know what will happen under the hood. This pickup truck is the perfect candidate for the new powertrain option. However, we have no official info about the new powerplant. As we said, the sales will begin later in 2021, and here’s everything we know.
2022 D-Max Spy Photos
The upcoming 2022 Isuzu D-Max already looks nice and modern. However, the next-gen model will take it to another level. It is the seventh-generation D-Max and we already saw spy photos of it. The changes are significant and the biggest upgrades will happen upfront. The front fascia now offers a brand-new grille and headlights and it will look better than ever.
Some cues are similar to the Ford Ranger, which is interesting. Two models are one of the most reliable pickup truck options in Australia. Besides the new front, the D-Max model comes with new taillights, new tires, and a rear locking differential. Lastly, Isuzu will provide new roll and nudge bars.
The forthcoming 2022 Isuzu D-Max comes with great build quality and a modern interior. The cabin is spacious and is full of high-tech amenities. However, drastic changes will continue on the inside as well. The goal is to deliver an SUV-like interior so the manufacturer will provide additional modern upgrades. For a start, safety is improved thanks to the latest driver-assistance aids.
Moreover, new airbags are available as well. The D-Max pickup will gain a larger infotainment touchscreen. New upholstery is a possibility, along with the new interior color schemes. Spy shots are not showing interior details but we expect even more updates.
New Diesel Engine is Not Confirmed Yet
Under the hood, the new 2022 Isuzu D-Max will deploy the same 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine. This powertrain is capable of producing 188 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is available and D-Max can tow up to 7700 pounds. New engine is still just a rumor. The latest reports are writing about a new turbodiesel engine that will be optional.
Thanks to that, D-Max will become a better off-roader, but it will also get improved towing capacity. We are waiting for the manufacturer to make it official. Lastly, speculations about the hybrid powertrain are false and D-Max Hybrid won’t happen in the near future.
2022 Isuzu D-Max Release Date and Price
After such significant upgrades, the new 2022 Isuzu D-Max will cost more than the current model. The base model will cost around $30,000, and the X-Terrain variant will almost reach $60,000. The D-Max pickup will continue to rival models such as Toyota Hilux and Nissan Navara. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021.
