New 2022 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain is one of the most promising models in Australia. The D-Max pickup truck gained popularity in recent years. This model shares a lot of things with the Mazda BT-50 model, including the same architecture. Now, the X-Terrain is the range-topping trim level with some impressive stuff to offer.
The X-Terrain will rival Ford Ranger FX4 and it will arrive with a turbodiesel engine. And while we like its capability, nice design and much more, the price is not affordable. Still, this trim level has a lot of offer, so here’s everything you need to know about it.
2022 D-Max X-Terrain Looks Very Attractive
New 2022 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain looks very attractive. This pickup truck comes with a lot of premium accents and plenty of off-road equipment. The highlight is the gloss dark grey grille. The wheel arches are finished in the same fashion as well. The X-Terrain is the range-topping trim level and it comes with standard LED headlights and LED taillights.
The “X” badge looks cool and sporty, just like the sports bar. This pickup provides a hard tonneau in the back and standard 18-inch alloy wheels. Isuzu said the double cab is on offer and the manufacturer will also deliver chunky all-terrain tires. The 20-inch wheels are optional. The result is an aggressive and good-looking off-road truck ready for adventure.

Interior Features
The interior of the 2022 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain is surprisingly impressive. Of course, you can’t compare it with new and modern SUVs, but it is a nice place to be anyway. Everything on the inside is logically laid out and some parts are looking boring or let’s say it regular. On the other hand, we like the leather seats and the leather steering wheel.
The cabin room is generous and the comfort is great. On the tech side, Isuzu offers a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, rain-sensing wipers, and dual-zone climate control. Safety ratings are impressive. The credit goes to the latest driver-assistance aids. Systems such as lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring are all on offer.

Engine Specs and Transmission
Under the hood, the upcoming 2022 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain hides a potent 3.0-liter engine. It is a turbodiesel four-cylinder powertrain with 187 horsepower. On top of that, this engine develops up to 332 lb-ft of torque. The X-Terrain delivers more power than the regular D-Max pickup truck. Isuzu added about 13 additional horses and 15 lb-ft of twists.
A 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission is available as well. Lastly, the X-Terrain variant is using a rear locking differential and a standard 4×4 part-time low-range system. The performances are great and this pickup truck is a very capable off-roader with solid fuel economy figures.

2022 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain Price, Release Date
The 2022 Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain will cost $58,000. We think the price is far from affordable. For an instance, the LS trim level offers almost the same list of standard features but it is a significantly cheaper model. The sales will begin later in 2021, most likely this November, in Australia. The D-Max X-Terrain will rival Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger models.
