2022 GMC Hummer EV – New Electric Truck Unvealed

The upcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV is revealed. General Motors calls it a “super-truck of the future.” The rumors about this truck started last year and everyone wrote about the all-electric premium off-roader. The first look of the Hummer EV came this January when GMC released a teaser. Then we saw the famous Super Bowl commercial featuring LeBron James.

Now, GMC unveiled its brand-new model and it looks astonishing. Moreover, the Hummer EV truck comes with plenty of innovative features, unique styling, and much more. Of course, the performances will be impressive so here’s everything you need to know.

2022 Hummer EV Exterior Design

The 2022 GMC Hummer EV looks very sleek and modern. The front fascia comes with unusual H-shaped headlights replacing the round headlamps found on other brand’s off-roaders. There is a full-width LED light bar where each letter is separated by seven vertical slats. The windshield is very upright but the previous teaser already showed that.

According to GM, this cue will improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics. A higher beltline is visible at first glance, along with the narrower side glass. The C-pillar is more angled and Hummer will provide 35-inch Goodyear mud-terrain tires. The rear part will offer a smaller cargo box that can be accessed via MultiPro tailgate. Of course, you will find plenty of off-road amenities, including skid plates and underbody protection.

Interior Looks Impressive

The interior of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV is very modern and spacious. The cabin is extremely rich in terms of tech. For a start, a 13.4-inch infotainment screen is available, along with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The manufacturer offers new UltraVision underbody cameras and this feature makes the parking easier. Of course, there are 18 other different camera views so everything is so practical and modern.

There is new Watts to Freedom mode that activates a full driving experience with maximum acceleration. With this mode, the Hummer truck will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds. Generally, Hummer EV offers a lot of modern stuff, a high level of comfort, plenty of room, and additional off-road and driver-assistance aids.

What About Specs?

The forthcoming 2022 GMC Hummer EV will deploy three electric motors and GM promised 1,000 hp at the reveal. Moreover, 11,500 lb-ft of torque still causes a lot of skepticism. Many truck experts are saying that such powerful torque figures are not possible at the moment. Some reports are suggesting that the electric motor provides 800 lb-ft of torque and there will be three motors. An 800-volt DC fast charging is compatible with 350 kilowatts chargers.

GM’s Ultium battery pack will add up to 100 miles of driving range in 10 minutes of charging. However, the battery size is not available yet. On the other hand, GMC promised 350-plus miles of driving range. Hummer EV will offer a Super Cruise system, along with adaptive air suspension, impressive ground clearance, and astonishing acceleration.

2022 GMC Hummer EV Price and Release Date

The brand-new 2022 GMC Hummer EV will start at $112,500. We are talking about Edition 1 which will become available in Fall 2021. In Fall 2022, GMC will launch a cheaper EV3X variant that costs $100,000. The plan is to provide the EV2X model in Spring 2023 and this version will cost $90,000. Lastly, the EV2 model will arrive in Spring 2024 and it will cost $80,000.
