The upcoming 2022 Chevy S10 is coming to the markets in the coming months. More precisely, a mid-size pickup will be launched in Brazil. The 2022MY will host a couple of mild updates, as this is the last model in the third-gen S10. This means the 2023MY will introduce significant upgrades. However, until that happens, the 2022 S10 comes with mid-cycle updates.
The goal is to dominate the markets in South America and S10 variant is already one of the best-selling pickup trucks in Brazil. The production already started in in Sao Jose dos Campos plant and GM will deliver three body configurations. That includes chassis cab, single cab, and double cab versions.
Chevy S10 Facelift
The 2022 Chevy S10 will focus on design, more than in the previous years. However, changes are not so significant, as the new-gen S10 will arrive later next year. The manufacturer will deliver a couple of interesting updates to the range-topping High Country trim level. On top of that, the mid-range LTZ trim will look more unique and it will slightly depart from other variants.
For a start, the front fascia is slightly refreshed as the grille now looks closer to the grille on the US-spec Colorado pickup. The headlights are looking more modern and the manufacturer will add large CHEVROLET lettering upfront. New trim level is a rumor for now, but we expect to see the same trim level lineup as before. New exterior color has been added as well, and the side profile and rear section will carry over.
The forthcoming 2022 Chevy S10 is getting more and more competitive in terms of high-tech features. The cabin is modern and it provides a high level of comfort. Chevrolet will add some new amenities, such as onboard Wi-Fi, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, wireless smartphone charging is available too, but this feature will be optional.
The interior design won’t change, along with the seating layout. There will be three different cabin configurations and we also expect to see more standard equipment. The S10 variant will most likely introduce further updates in the upper trim levels. However, we are waiting for more details, as this is not confirmed yet.
The powertrain lineup won’t change, so the 2022 Chevy S10 will continue to offer two engine options. That includes a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with 206 hp and a 2.8-liter diesel engine with 200 hp. Some reports are predicting a new 3.6-liter V6 as an optional engine.
This output develops 310 horsepower, but this is not so likely to happen in the future. On the other hand, improving the current engine lineup by adding slightly more torque is a more likely outcome.
2022 Chevy S10 Price, Release Date
The price of the 2022 Chevy S10 will start at around $30,000. There will be five trim levels, two engines, and three body styles. The sales will begin later in 2021 and GM will reveal more details in the coming weeks. As we already said, S10 pickup is coming to Brazil and it is the last model of the current generation.
