The forthcoming 2022 Chevrolet ZRX will hit the markets later next year. This model is also known as “The Reaper” and it is an off-road variant of the iconic Silverado pickup truck. The spy shots are available so we have an idea of how the new model could look like. Besides the handsome look and great off-road capability, the ZRX version also offers a potent engine.
According to the latest reports, Chevrolet will offer a familiar 6.2-liter V8 that will produce around 450 horsepower. This is still below its rivals such as Ram Rebel TRX and Ford Ranger Raptor. We don’t expect for Chevy to surprise us with a new engine, but this engine could gain more power in 2022.

First spy shots of the 2022 Chevrolet ZRX are available. The images are showing a very impressive design and a couple of novelties. This off-road variant looks more than competitive. Chevy delivers a very aggressive styling and the ZRX model is no different. Its styling is a perfect combination of the aggressive bodywork and sporty character.
Unlike the regular Silverado pickup, the ZRX model will introduce a new and bolder bumper. Both ends are looking unique. And while the rear part looks traditional, we think the front fascia is innovative and modern. Lastly, a conventional exhaust setup clearly suggests the mentioned V8 powertrain option.
Interior Will Look Upright
On the inside, the new 2022 Chevrolet ZRX will look modern and upright. However, we don’t know how exactly the interior will look like. Chevy is known for delivering upscale cabins with plenty of features and standard equipment. Still, interior design is the biggest mystery at the moment. Spy shots failed to provide enough interior details. The Reaper model will surely get something new. And while the latest driver-assistance is a must, we don’t know what will happen with touchscreen options.
The upcoming ZRX truck needs numerous updates in order to compete with Ram and Ford. Whatsoever, Ford F-150 Raptor is known for its impressive interior that is both modern and spacious. Ford delivers a lot of high-quality stuff and Chevrolet will surely follow the same path. That means we expect more upright materials and the newest high-tech amenities.
Familiar V8 Engine
The all-new 2022 Chevrolet ZRX will continue to slot behind its biggest rivals in terms of power. This pickup truck is using a 6.2-liter V8. Potent V8 is capable of producing 450 horsepower. While this is a lot of power, Ford Raptor and Ram Rebel TRX are offering stronger figures.
Moreover, ZRX aka “The Reaper” will deliver around 510 lb-ft of torque. Hopefully, Chevy will re-tune this engine, and maybe new ZRX could arrive with slightly improved performance. On the other hand, the Ram Rebel TRX model is still the leader with 707 horses.
2022 Chevrolet ZRX Price and Release Date
The approaching 2022 Chevrolet ZRX will hit the dealerships in the second half of 2021. It is an off-road-oriented pickup truck with great capabilities and impressive design. Its price will start at around $50,000 or slightly above that. Chevy will release more details in the coming months.
