The all-new 2021 Nissan Titan XD continues its journey with the latest upgrades. Known for its turbodiesel engine, Titan XD is a very capable truck with plenty of power and off-road ability. Like the regular Titan, the XD variant will feature almost the same upgrades. That includes various cosmetic changes and minor interior refinements.
A complete redesign is a rumor and Nissan is still refusing to provide the answer. This model will surely introduce a couple of significant upgrades and the customers should expect more tech inside the cabin. On top of that, higher safety ratings are the most likely outcome. The Japanese manufacturer will release a new model this summer.
2021 Titan XD Facelift
The upcoming 2021 Nissan Titan XD will arrive with a couple of interesting improvements. However, Titan will remain the full-size pickup truck with the same dimensions as its predecessor. Even the vehicle’s shape will stay intact. For 2021, Nissan will offer a more robust appearance with a more aggressive design. Titan XD will get the same treatment as the regular Titan pickup. Whatsoever, two models will get the same exterior paints and two of them are brand-new.
A new integrated gooseneck hitch is available and the front fascia now comes with larger bumper and reshaped headlamps. The truck will look sharper as a result and it will definitely look more upscale. Titan XD is available with a Midnight Edition Package which is a very popular choice among the buyers. Some reports are predicting for Nissan to remove Single Cab configuration from the offer.
Interior Changes, Features
The interior will also get various updates. The forthcoming 2021 Nissan Titan XD will feature a very upscale cabin with the latest version of the infotainment system. However, the current 7-inch touchscreen will remain. Many fans will be disappointed but at least a new display will feature simpler menus than before. Titan XD will also gain various driver-assistance features and more safety aids.
The new interior color scheme is also on the cards. Generally, Titan XD offers a quality interior design with interesting shapes and logical layout. The interior is also roomy and practical so you don’t have to worry about that. King and Crew cab variants are available. However, we are still waiting for Nissan to say more about a possible discount of the Single Cab version.
Titan XD Diesel Powertrain Specs
The next 2021 Nissan Titan XD will once again feature the same turbodiesel engine. It is a well-known 5.0-liter V8. This engine is capable of producing 310 horsepower and up to 555 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, Nissan said that turbodiesel could get slightly more power than in the current model. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available and it should be the only gearbox option for 2021.
Titan XD is a rear-wheel-drive truck that can tow almost 13,000 pounds. Regular Titan will use a slightly larger 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine. To compare, gasoline returns 390 hp and 385 lb-ft of twists. More horses, but if you prefer torque rating and higher fuel efficiency, Titan XD with diesel powertrain is a much better option.
2021 Nissan Titan XD Release Date and Price
The price of the arriving 2021 Nissan Titan XD will start at $34,000. It is a small price increase given the number of updates for 2021. This full-size pickup truck will go on sale this summer. However, the Coronavirus outbreak could reschedule its release for November.
