2021 Jeep Gladiator release date

2021 Jeep Gladiator to Introduce Diesel Engine

The forthcoming 2021 Jeep Gladiator is coming to the markets by the end of the year. The new model will be interesting for various reasons. For instance, many fans skipped the 2020 Gladiator because there is no diesel powertrain. However, the 2021 Gladiator will get a diesel engine in his second year of production.

As for the rest, Gladiator will mostly remain. Still, small updates will surely happen, but don’t expect anything significant to change. After all, Gladiator is a new model. Its Rubicon and Mojave variants are currently on high demand and for a good reason.

2021 Gladiator Looks Aggressive

In terms of styling, the new 2021 Jeep Gladiator will look like its predecessor. Body-on-frame architecture remains so we don’t expect significant upgrades for 2021. Gladiator comes with a 137-inch long wheelbase and it looks aggressive. So far, this model has been available in a crew-cab variant exclusively. That could change later this year and hopefully, the customers will have more cab choices. A two-door model is a must for every established manufacturer and Jeep surely is one of the best automakers nowadays.

Gladiator will remain a very practical and easy-to-customize model. It is available in numerous exterior paints and folding the windshield is easier than ever before. Gladiator comes with removable roof panels as well and this pickup is similar to the Jeep Wrangler SUV. A five-link rear suspension is in the offer, along with a five-foot bed.

Wrangler-Like Interior Design

On the inside, the next 2021 Jeep Gladiator will gain a couple of high-tech updates. Besides that, nothing will change. The current Gladiator already offers an upscale and practical cabin with plenty of room for everyone. No major updates will happen, besides the mentioned new cab configurations. However, Jeep will replace a standard 5-inch display. Most likely, a 7-inch touchscreen will be standard, and brand-new and larger display should be optional.

Next-gen Uconnect infotainment system will be in the offer, along with new driver-assistance aids. Optionally, Gladiator pickup comes with Wi-Fi speakers and leather upholstery. Moreover, this model comes offers unique lockable storages and easy-to-remove roof panels.

Gladiator Gets First Diesel Ever

As we said, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator will introduce its first diesel engine ever. But first, this pickup continues to offer its 3.6-liter as standard. This gasoline powertrain generates 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. As for the diesel, it is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder that will be optional. Diesel will produce up to 260 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of twisting power.

Thanks to that, Gladiator Diesel will tow over 8,000 pounds. As for the transmission, Jeep offers both a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Diesel is the reason why many customers decided not to buy the 2020 Gladiator and wait for the 2021 model. Gladiator will be available in numerous trim levels and if you want real off-roading beasts, Rubicon and Mojave versions are the answer.

2021 Jeep Gladiator Release Date and Price

As for the price, a new model will again cost $31,000. The number of updates is small so there is no reason for Jeep to increase the starting price. However, go for the optional diesel and you’ll have to pay $35,000. New 2021 Jeep Gladiator will go on sale around September 2020.
