The all-new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will gain some significant upgrades. The arriving pickup truck will introduce significant interior changes. After recent performance upgrades, Sierra will get an improved cabin in order to compete with Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 models. The manufacturer will deliver a higher level of comfort and more high-tech amenities.
If you prefer interior and technology over the vehicle’s design or performance, then the Sierra 1500 is the model for you. You should also expect minor exterior changes and more optional equipment. In our honest opinion, the 2021 Sierra will be a complete package that delivers it all.
2021 Sierra 1500 Minor Visual Updates
The forthcoming 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will get minor exterior upgrades. Some reports are still writing about a total redesign, but that won’t happen for sure. Instead, General Motors will refresh this pickup truck with small exterior modifications. That includes new modern touches such as reshaped headlamps. Moreover, the grille will remain but the taillights will gain sharper look than before.
Sierra will continue to deploy the same GM T1 platform so dimensional changes are not on the cards. As we said, GM will offer new optional equipment. Thanks to that, Sierra 1500 will arrive with new wheel options and possibly new metallic exterior paints.
GM plans to completely redesign the interior of the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. The cabin will be more SUV-like and you should expect plenty of novelties. The new pickup will surely overtake RAM and Ford in terms of comfort and technology. However, the interior layout will remain, just like the seating capacity. On the other hand, GM will introduce a revamped center stack and it will offer larger displays.
Thanks to that, front passengers will have more legroom. You can expect plenty of chrome accents, new upholstery, and much more. GM plans to deliver modern touches all over the cabin. Moreover, new driver-assistance aids, packages, and optional features will surely be in the offer.
Gasoline and Diesel Are Available
Unfortunately, nothing will change under the hood. The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will once again offer four powertrain options. A 4.3-liter gasoline V6 is a standard engine that delivers 285 hp. If you want more power, optional 5.3-liter V8 is available and it generates 355 horsepower. The most powerful engine is 6.2-liter V8 gasoline.
This engine provides 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. As before, Sierra 1500 also offers an optional diesel engine. This diesel output can produce 280 horses and up to 460 lb-ft of twists. In a world of diesel, Sierra provides more power than Ford’s PowerStroke and RAM’s EcoDiesel variants.
2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Release Date, Price
While nothing is official yet, the new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 should start at $32,000. After significant upgrades, the jump in price makes perfect sense. However, if you want more luxury, the range-topping model costs around $60,000. New Sierra pickup will arrive in 2020, most likely in the last quarter of it. As you know, the Coronavirus stopped the original plans so everything is rescheduled.
