2021 GMC Canyon Denali release date

2021 GMC Canyon Denali Shows New Grille

The upcoming 2021 GMC Canyon Denali is almost here. First photos of the all-new model are available, and we must say it looks fantastic. The most significant change happened out front. However, some other exterior parts are updated as well. Canyon Denali will once again arrive with a premium cabin, and it will also introduce new high-tech amenities.

The performance won’t change, and this pickup truck will continue with its proven V6 gasoline engine. The new model will go on sale at some point before the end of the year. Lastly, some reports are saying the price won’t change significantly.

2021 Canyon Denali Changes

New 2021 GMC Canyon Denali will get various cosmetic upgrades. For a start, the front part comes with a redesigned bumper. The grille looks different, and it digs deeper into the front bumper. GM said the new grille is an “exclusive heroic design.” The lower section comes with unique cutouts for the fog lights. The center cutout has been restyled and is now black-painted.

The front fascia now looks more detailed, and it hosts larger grille and more pronounced LED headlights. Unlike the AT4 variant with red tow hooks, Denali trim level comes with black tow hooks and chrome fog lamp bezels. GM will offer the same five-inch assist steps and 20-inch diamond-cut aluminum wheels.

Interior Updates

Besides the exterior changes, new 2021 GMC Canyon Denali will also gain a couple of interior updates. The mid-size pickup truck will get more high-tech amenities. The premium already looks premium, and GM will build on that. For a start, Canyon Denali will feature embroidered front headrests. Furthermore, new and exclusive Ash Wood interior trim is available.

The interior offers plenty of luxury, but most of the things will remain intact. That includes the Cocoa Dark Atmosphere color scheme and leather upholstery. GM still didn’t confirm, but 2021 Canyon Denali should arrive with more safety aids that will be standard on this range-topping trim level.

Gasoline and Diesel Engine Lineup Remains

The forthcoming 2021 GMC Canyon Denali will continue with two powertrain options, just like the outgoing model. A 3.5-liter V6 engine is standard once again. This gasoline unit is capable of producing 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. It delivers 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. On top of that, a six-speed automatic transmission is in the offer.

The optional 2.8-liter diesel is available too. Duramax engine can generate 180 hp and up to 370 lb-ft of twisting power. And just like with the gasoline engine, diesel also comes with the same six-speed automatic gearbox. Denali trim offers a four-wheel-drive system, and it comes with modified suspension. Ride quality is superb, but Canyon Denali is far from a capable off-roader.

2021 GMC Canyon Denali Release Date and Price

The price of the 2021 GMC Canyon Denali should start at $42,000. GM made some changes in trim levels. For a start, AT4 trim replaces the All-Terrain trim, and the Elevation model is now the base model that costs $27,000. Despite COVID-19 pandemic, GM plans to deliver its new mid-size truck on time. Most likely, Canyon will reach the markets later this year.
